Laminated bamboo and plybamboo industrial products initiated in 1980's in China, bamboo was used here called "Mao Zhu" in Chinese, its scientifically name is Phyllostachy Pubenscens, although there are more than 1200 species bamboo live in subtropical and tropical area of the world, only Mao Zhu can be used for modern bamboo products, this is because Mao Zhu has a abundant resources which about 2.8 million ha. distributes mostly in south of Yangtse river, each year there are 400 million bamboo poles can be harvested for laminated bamboo products or plybamboo, secondly Mao Zhu is one of the biggest bamboo in the world, which has enough bamboo wood can be used.

Like all the other bamboos, Mao Zhu reproduces automatically by its roots, each year the new generation germinates from its roots, the buds called bamboo shoots break ground in early spring (March and April in China), which grow 6 to 8 months achieving their mature diameter (average 10-12cm) and height (about 15m), the speed of growth is much faster than trees. In next 5 to 6 years, Mao Zhu can be harvested for its products.

China is the best one who administers Mao Zhu forest, based on Chinese long time experience, in most bamboo forest area, every two years (one year harvest bamboo shoots) Mao Zhu is harvested, the mature bamboo poles commonly to be cut in the third period, that is 6 years old bamboo. To maintain bamboo forest growing well, each year we have to either harvest some shoots or cut down some poles, so that to make bamboo reserved growing well.
